2009 Review and 2010 Projections
The first month in the 2010 New Year is almost over and it is an exciting time for of the year for our company. One of the things that I like to do in the beginning of each new year is to look at the year gone by. It is the one time that I can really take a good look at the challenges and think about what we can do better and celebrate the successes. 2009 has certainly brought forth both challenges and successes for The Creation Studio.
I think that the majority of companies can really take a good look at the economy and say with certainty that there have been some challenges. If the economy has not had some impact corporately, certainly individuals have had some moments of uncertainties with their personal financial portfolios. I know that our family has taken some losses in our investments.
I think that in the area of marketing, companies really have had difficult choices to make. I have seen several companies wrestle with the choice of either allocating marketing dollars toward a new corporate website or not. There has seemed to be two thoughts when making that decision. They are:
- Realizing that consumers today want to know about a company's products or services before making contact with that business. Consumers do this through online research. This can be as simple as comparing prices or learning about that company's values such as environmental values etc. The goal of a well designed corporate or business website is to bring new customers to their door, thus increasing their bottom line and this method of marketing will pay for itself in due time. This realization may motivate the business to move forward or the business concludes that they cannot possibly invest in their website at this stage of the company's existence.
- The company or business does not see the value in having a website.
We have had some exciting projects this year, and met some wonderful clients along the way. I truly understand the difficulty some businesses have had to endure with the economic crisis, and am honoured and feel blessed over the businesses who have trusted us to design, develop and create their websites and for those companies who have invested in our company to provide them with search engine optimization services.
I wish all of our past clients a heartfelt Happy New Year and look forward to meeting and working with future clients whose paths I will cross in 2010.
